How DID YOU GET STARTED RUG HOOKING?
My mother started hooking in the mid 1970s when she came across her grandmother’s hook. There was absolutely nobody in our town who knew how to hook, but Mom was already an accomplished knitter and needle-pointer and weaver. So, she went to the library and ordered books about traditional rug hooking, and proceeded to create fabulous rugs. Years later, she moved to a community where she could connect with other rug hookers and began to attend camps and workshops. I asked her for a lesson in 2004 and have been passionate about rug hooking ever since.
